DAMIAN AS ROBIN FIGURE?

One figure I am waiting for is a Damian as Robin figure. I kind of thought the Batman a Son Damian in the white and black jump suit was a bit of a let down. I would have preferred if they had him white and black jump suit with D.G’s old Robin tunic with the hooded cloak and the swords. Now I would also like to see a Frank Quietly Damian Robin. My collection is really light on the Robin side so I definitely could use some more and I have a few D.G. and Tim Drake but no Damian as Robin. So DC Direct what do you think?

1960's batmobile V3

One that has been on my list the longest is on of the Corgi 1/43 scale Batmobile it’s the 1960’s V3 I believe from around 2006ish. Again the cry of the collector I actually had one in my hand and put it back. This one I am not sure if I will ever find it at a decent price I kind of have doubts I will ever find it. But I still hope I do.

Final Crisis Batman

Another figure I really want is the Final Crisis Batman. I think of all the figures on my want list this one is on the top. Again I actually had one in my hand once but balked at the price. I know eventually I will find one hopefully not for an outrageous price, but I am pretty sure I am not going to find this one on the five dollar table.

Armour Batman figure

I have found a new figure I am starting to obsess about it the Batman armour figure from the Armoury series. I am not sure why I want it now so much; I was not really overly chuffed with this figure before I have actually had it in my hand a few times and put it back down. Now for some reason I really want one. I know eventually I will find one for a decent price, at least I hope so. I really want one just not enough to over spend on one I am hoping to find one on the five dollar table at a show.

Retro Mego like figures

The retro Mego like figures from DC Direct should be out in a couple of months. I have the Batman and Two Face on pre-order. I personally think they look really good but I know some people don’t really like them; there are the Mego traditionalists who think they are too updated, specifically the “oven mitts” are gone. Which I don’t have a problem with I was never a big fan of “oven mitts” you could never keep them on which is why it is so hard to find complete original Mego figures. Besides if I wanted old classic Mego Batman figures I would buy old classic Mego Batman figures; which I do and I did. Then there is the other camp which thinks they are too goofy looking. I think probably the majority of them are most a younger born after 1980’s and are kind of spoiled with all the DC Direct and Hot Toys and such. Well again if I wanted ultra realistic figures I would buy ultra realistic figures; which I do and I do. I think it is kind of funny that one group thinks they look to “good” and another thinks they don’t look “good” enough. Like I said I think they look good, great in fact. I guess that my problem is I just want it all, if its batman or batman related I want it.

EAGLEMOSS LEAD FIGURE

I like these ones I have had my eye on them for a wile now but I had never seen them in person, well I think I may have seen them and not realized what they were, so lets just say this was the first time I had seen any of the “cool” ones or at least the ones that I am interested in, no offence to any Dr Light fans out there. Actually I think the first time I heard about them was at last years FANEXPO Walter Koenig of all people was telling me about them apparently he collects them. Anyway they are really nice; they are about 3 inches tall which is smaller than I had thought because from the amount of detail in the pictures I had thought they were much bigger. They are obviously hand painted and one of the only complaints I have is on the Riddler the green from a wash has bled onto the stand only a minor point I still like them quite a lot. Now my problem is I have to get Batman, Robin, and Joker……….. and Two Face, Catwoman and Red Robin and that should be good.

BLACK AND WHITE STATUES

I think I may have forgotten to post about the Black and White statues I got for my birthday…in December. Oh well better late then never. I got two Black and White Batman statues an Alex Ross and Dave Mazzucchelli . What can you say about Alex Ross? I mean if you are only going to get one of these it should probably be the Alex Ross it is only my opinion but I personally think Alex Ross is the quintessential Batman Artist. The Dave Mazzucchelli is really nice too, I loved the look of Batman year one I think it had a bit of a retro kind of Bob Kane look but updated a little bit if that makes any sense. The Black and White statues are really nice pieces so nice that they have made there way into my living room cabinet with the wife’s approval.

TOY SHOW

Well I did end up going to the Toy Show. I did not get any Batmobiles I did how ever pick up three of the Eagle-moss led figures. I got Riddler, Harly and Nightwing. Not a bad price either. I also got a Batman from Superman Batman Enemies among us and an Alex Ross Batgirl Justice figure.

BATMOBILES

I am still keeping my eyes open for the 1/64 scale Brave and the Bold Batmobile and still no sign of it in the stores yet. I think they stagger the new releases but I don’t know if there is a schedule or is there is how it exactly it works. I will need to get a few of them so my son’s can have their own. Actually there are no 1/50 scale batmobiles either. There is a Toy show this Sunday maybe I will go and have a look if I can swing it.

Mego Riddler

I got a Mego Riddler. He has no belt and his hands are not original, but other than that he is in pretty good nick. I also got a DC Direct Hush Catwoman. They went straight into a box. I need to start looking for some Mego replacement parts.

New DC Direct 13” Batman figure

There is a new DC Direct 13” Batman figure based on the Alex Ross book Justice. And man I am really excited about this one. I know the photo is of a prototype so there will most likely be some changes but it looks really good. It looks like the body and the costume is pretty much the same as the first DC Direct Batman figure, but the boots, hands and obviously head sculpt are different. The cape also looks longer which I really like so I hope that is the same on the final product. I really hope they keep them coming because I really want a Frank Miller, Jim Lee and an Andy Kubert versions and I am pretty sure I am not the only one. How about a Tim Drake Robin figure and where is the Riddler they have not done a Riddler yet. As much as I would like to see those and other figures and as much as I will of course have to get them, it is really the Batman figures I most want to see and of course have to get. I know I am getting way ahead of myself, but it is just that I am so excited about this figure. It is almost like this figure is a sign of things to come almost like some one somewhere heard my ramblings and agreed with me.

EBay loss

I can not believe how bummed out I am, I was bidding on a Batman figure lot and lost. I would have been great it was a big lot and I needed every one of them but one. And I lost out, Frak’n EBay snipers! I am not really sure why I am so worked up about this I knew I was not going to win it, I guess I got that itch and I want to buy something new.
